Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2026
1. What Everletter.me is
Everletter.me is a private letter-writing service. It lets you write thoughtful letters and share them with a small group of people you choose. There are no public feeds, no algorithmic distribution, and no advertising.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Everletter.me.
Everletter.me is operated from Denmark. See our Privacy Policy for who runs the service and how to reach us.
You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use Everletter.me.
Everletter.me is an independent, one-person hobby project, not a staffed company. It is not monitored or supported during normal working hours or on any fixed schedule, and there is no guaranteed response time for support requests.
2. Your account
Everletter.me uses passwordless login: we send a one-time code to your email address each time you sign in. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure. You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page; this permanently removes your data from our systems.
3. Your content
You own everything you write. Everletter.me does not claim any rights over your letters, images, or any other content you create. By using the service, you grant us the limited right to store and transmit your content for the sole purpose of delivering it to your chosen readers, and nothing more.
Your letters and images are stored in encrypted form. We do not read your content and do not use it for any purpose other than delivery.
4. What you can count on us for
We are committed to running Everletter.me as a service that respects you and your readers. Specifically:
- We will never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We will never introduce advertising or algorithmic feeds.
- We will keep your content encrypted and private.
- We will tell you before making significant changes to these terms or the service.
- We will give you a way to export or delete your data at any time.
5. Acceptable use
Everletter.me is built for personal correspondence with people who have opted in to receive your letters. You agree not to use it to send unsolicited messages, spam, or bulk commercial communications; to distribute illegal, harmful, or harassing content; or to impersonate another person or entity.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly violate these terms. We will act proportionately and in good faith.
6. Service availability
We aim to keep Everletter.me reliable and available, and will communicate planned downtime in advance where possible. However, Everletter.me is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access, and we may suspend, restrict, or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, temporarily or permanently, at any time and without prior notice.
To the extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss or damage arising from downtime, suspension, or discontinuation of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.
7. Changes to the service and these terms
Everletter.me is a living product. We may add features, change how things work, or revise these terms over time. This includes the potential introduction of paid plans or subscription tiers; where that happens, pricing and any additional billing terms will be communicated clearly before they take effect. When we make material changes to these terms, we will notify you by email or through the service before they take effect. Continued use after that point means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree with a change, you are free to delete your account.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any disputes will be handled in good faith; if that fails, the courts of Denmark will apply. If you are an EU consumer, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
